What Is a Health Coach and Why Do I Need One?

If there’s an area of your life you need to improve, you turn to a specialist, from your mechanic to your tennis instructor. Imagine that you can have the same individualized care for your health, a specialist in your corner who works with you to get the most out of the one body you’ve been given in life.

At Saravit Wellness, Dr. Siatta Dunbar prides herself on not just providing health and wellness services, but partnering with patients for a lifetime of good health.

Through individualized care, Dr. Dunbar and our team ensure that you have the necessary tools to stay healthy, because life is one game you don’t want to go through without the right coach.

Here’s a look at what our health coaching services entail and the many ways in which you can benefit.

Taking charge of your health through nutrition

It’s no mystery that what you put into your body affects most every function within your body. Unfortunately, the state of nutrition in this country isn’t good — Americans rely far too much on nutrient-poor, calorie-rich processed foods.

As a result, the United States has an alarming rate of obesity — 2 of 3 adults are overweight or obese — which has led to increases in serious chronic conditions like diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Through our customized nutrition program here at Saravit Wellness, we can help you shed those dangerous pounds to improve your health and ensure that your body is getting the right vitamins and nutrients.

To give you an idea of the problem we’re up against, nearly a third of the US population is at risk for at least one vitamin deficiency and/or anemia.

As a health coach, Dr. Dunbar guides your nutritional habits, showing you which foods pack the most nutrient punch. Through our nutritional counseling, we show you how to shop and eat so that you’re both well-fed and well-nourished.

And we can almost guarantee that you’ll see and feel the results within weeks of getting started.

Staying active and fit

Dr. Dunbar is also a sports medicine specialist who has extensive experience with the human musculoskeletal system (outside of your spine).

As a sports medicine doctor, her goals are threefold:

Preventing injury Healing an injury Improving performance

Under our care, we ensure that your body has the resources it needs for optimal performance, and we’re also able to step in quickly when we see a problem brewing, which can help you avoid a long-term injury.

If you do injure yourself, we offer the tools you need to heal more quickly, such as biologics and physical therapy.

Or perhaps you’re struggling with arthritis and your quality of life has decreased because of the joint pain. Through our health coaching, we tackle the joint pain from every angle available so you can regain pain-free movement.

The bottom line is that our health coaching services are quite wide in scope, but very targeted and personalized in approach. To learn more, contact our office in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to set up an appointment. We’re also offering telehealth visits for your convenience and safety.
